wordhippo.cc is a reference website. You can read every page without creating an account, and we do not ask for your name, email address, or any other personal information.

What we store on your device

One thing: your light-or-dark theme choice, saved in your browser's local storage if you use the theme toggle. It never leaves your device, and clearing your browser data removes it. Our word-game solvers also run entirely in your browser; the letters you type into them are never sent to us.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to see which pages people find useful, in aggregate. It sets cookies and records things like the page visited, approximate location derived from your IP address, and the type of device and browser. We never see your name or email, and we do not try to identify individual visitors. Google's handling of that data is described in theGoogle Privacy Policy, and you can opt out entirely with theGoogle Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Turning on Do Not Track or using a content blocker also prevents it from loading.

Hosting

The site is served by Cloudflare. Like most hosting providers, Cloudflare processes standard technical logs (such as IP addresses) to deliver pages and protect against abuse. Their handling of that data is described in theCloudflare Privacy Policy.

Advertising

We may show advertisements served by third-party vendors, including Google. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and other sites on the internet. Contact form

Our contact page embeds a form provided by Google Forms. Anything you type into it is submitted to Google and handled under theGoogle Privacy Policy. Share only what you are comfortable sending.

Pages link to external resources such as Tatoeba, Wiktionary and the Open English WordNet for attribution. Those sites have their own privacy practices, which we do not control.

Children

The site is a general-audience dictionary and word-tools reference. We do not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children.
